About the Role

Douglas Partners is seeking a Handy Person to be based in our Sydney office in West Ryde.  The position will be responsible for maintaining the property, including but not limited to buildings, equipment, utilities, furnishings, and grounds.  There will also be opportunity to assist in field investigations.

The position reports to the Sydney Geotechnical Section Manager, although you will work closely with all members of the Geotechnical, Environmental and Rock Mechanics sections. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Performing and arranging scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning.

• Performs minor building and furniture modifications or repairs involving carpentry, painting and plumbing.

• Provides assistance and direction on outside service and repair work. Follows up on work reviews and ensures that outside services are efficiently completed.

• Checking of landscaping needs.

• Maintenance and calibration of various field testing equipment used for a range of geotechnical and environmental investigations (training provided).

• Current Manual Driver's Licence.

• Practical skills in maintaining electronic equipment (desirable).

• An ability to work in a team environment.

• A friendly, positive and enthusiastic attitude with a 'can do' approach.

• Be honest and trustworthy.

• Understand the importance Work Health and Safety (WHS) systems.
