Union reps and company heads have come together again this week, trying to sort out a dispute that saw 200 Aurizon train drivers on strike.

The Rail Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) and haulage company Aurizon will face the Fair Work Commission over an ongoing pay dispute.

The stoush was the reason behind strike action by hundreds of drivers last week, who walked off the job for 48 hours then found themselves locked out when they tried to return.

While the union wants industrial action to continue, the Fair Work Commission has ordered a moratorium until midnight this Wednesday.

RTBU representative Steve Wright has told the ABC that workers want to move forward on negotiations to increase a previous pay offer.

“I certainly do hope the company is coming to Fair Work with the expectation of hopefully compromising their position as we have done a number of times so that we can reach an agreement and remove all the industrial action,” he said.

At last report the company had offered a three per cent pay rise over four years, but the drivers would like four per cent.
