Pacific National’s Coal Division has unveiled its new coal depot and crew barracks in New South Wales’ north east.

The depot, positioned in the gateway to the Gunnedah Basin, will act as a base for Pacific National’s coal operations in the region and will service key coal producers.

Pacific National currently operates 120 coal services in the Gunnedah Basin and Werris Creek to Newcastle port facilities with Whitehaven and Idemitsu and is expected to expand its operations significantly with the opening of the new depot.

Pacific National Coal Director, David Irwin, has said that the development of the Gunnedah region is crucial to fulfil its contracts in the Hunter Valley and Gunnedah region.

“As coal exports grow strongly and new mines open, having a dedicated base in the right location will further assist our ability to effectively service the needs of our customers through the provision of efficient and sustainable coal haulage services,” Mr Irwin said.
