The New South Wales Government has unveiled a new strategy aimed at wooing international investment, upping exports and creating new jobs.

The new NSW International Engagement Strategy outlines how and where the state must focus its international engagement efforts, and how it can better contribute to economic growth.

The strategy identifies specific international engagement activities to:

  • Prioritise NSW markets and sectors;
  • Attract productive international investment and regional headquarters;
  • Encourage growth in NSW business activity in overseas markets;
  • Build close international trade and investment relationships; and
  • Co-ordinate efforts and improve delivery.

Under the scheme, the state’s priority export markets have been expanded for six to 10, reflecting its renewed efforts to woo Asian investors and trade partners.
