Freight and logistics giant DHL Global Forwarding has completed work on its $61.6 million facility in Sydney, the massive transport hub is set to open its doors today.

The new site combines two previous NSW operations into a single 19,619 square metre tailor-built facility, comprising 15,000 square metres of warehousing and an incredible 3,000 square metres of cold storage.

Located close to Port Botany and Sydney International Airport, DHL expects the new facility to greatly improve customer service levels, especially in its target industries of pharmaceutical, technology and mining industries.

The company says the new consolidated facility is required to support the significant growth it has experienced in these sectors in the past 12 months.

“The new premises provide for business growth and improved process capabilities which will enhance our productivity in the processing of our air and ocean freight cargo,” says DHL Global Forwarding South Pacific CEO Tony Boll.
