Oil and petroleum giant BP has announced it has started work on the construction of the $20 million expansion of its Largs North Terminal.

“The Largs North terminal is already a key element of South Australia’s energy infrastructure, providing storage that gives our State security of supply,” State Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Tom Koutsantonis said.

“Construction of a new 30-million litre tank to increase diesel storage in Adelaide will help BP to reduce risks, improve reliability and ensure greater security of supply.

The extension marks the first stage in a possible $41 million pipeline of infrastructure investment in South Australia being considered by BP over the next five years.
