About the role:
Working across our Maroochydore and Morayfield depot we have an exciting opportunity for two new Crew Leaders to be part of the Unitywater team. Leading a crew to undertake water and sewerage construction and maintenance activities, you and your crew will be responsible for works including pipe laying, water meter and fire service works, connections to existing infrastructure, modification and/or replacement of manholes, valve pits, overflow structures, pump station and valve pit pipe work, valves and fittings.  Additionally, you will be accountable for the implementation and monitoring of safety and environmental management plans and site controls.
  
About you:
To contribute to Unitywater’s values of Reliability, Safety, Honesty & Integrity, Efficiency, One Team, Innovation, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:

  • Ability to lead a crew to undertake construction and maintenance, including mentoring and on the job training to crew members
  • Ability to carry out works including excavation and trenching, pipe laying, slinging and lifting of loads, working around services, cable location, de-watering and traffic management
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership and experience assessing and controlling hazards to work safely onsite in accordance with safe work method statements.
  • Demonstrated experience in pipe laying for water and sewage infrastructure, and installation of metered water connections.
  • Understanding of hygiene standards applicable to working with potable water.
  • An open C Class Driver’s License and a MR Driver's License or willingness to obtain immediately.
  • Knowledge of water and sewer fittings would be advantages.
  • The ability to read and interpret plans.
