The Role
This role performs key procurement activities in the Unit's Warehouse and Distribution Team. Duties include coordination of procurement activities, determining priorities and responsibilities, documenting and reporting.
This position is accountable to plan and obtain quotes from suppliers, assess value for money, obtain delegate approval and finalise approved procurement activities.
About our Team
The Joint Logistics Unit (North Queensland) is Townsville based, mixed military and civilian, organisation that delivers a range of logistic services to Australian Defence Force elements operating across North Queensland. It also provides logistic advice and support to other government agencies and allied foreign forces on occasions.
The Unit has three Branches: Operations, Logistic Services and Business Management.
Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience in finance, accounts payable and account management. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The successful candidate will have experience in working in a diverse logistics environment with a range of stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative procurement activities.
They will understand procurement risk mitigation, performance measurement and compliance within legislative and policy frameworks.
