The Role
The Unmanned Aerial Systems Management Unit (UASMU) within Army Aviation Systems Branch has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Engineer to play a critical role in support of the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capability. The UASMU Chief Engineer will work directly to the UASMU Director, is a part of the executive leadership team and is based in Brisbane – Gallipoli Barracks.

In this dynamic role, you will be required to support the sustainment of UAS platforms, and have the opportunity to influence the Defence UAS strategic direction. This is a unique and exceptional opportunity to contribute to ADF’s growing demand of non-Type Certified UAS. You will work in an integrated workforce consisting of Australian Defence Force, Australian Public Service and industry personnel; providing you with opportunities to build collaborative relationships across Defence and industry. This role will contribute to broader Executive management functions and offers an opportunity to develop transferable leadership, stakeholder engagement and strategic development skills. About our Team
UASMU is a lead organisation with a decade of experience in supporting Army UAS operations. The next generation of technology will require innovative sustainment arrangements to ensure the effective support to Army’s operational needs. The Australian Army currently operates a variety tactical and small UAS. The team is preparing for the introduction into service of several new and exciting fleets of product lines in the next two years, where program growth technology change will be frequent.
