The Role

As an ILS Manager (Acquisition) in the Submarine Program, you will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex materiel logistics work within an integrated workforce.

You will :

  • Be accountable for leading a team, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows and evaluating business outcomes
  • Provide direction and mentoring to ensure integration and consistency within the Materiel Logistics discipline
  • Understand and apply organisational processes and procedures in the development of Integrated Logistics Support Concepts, Analyses and Plans.
  • Evaluate materiel logistics activities, understand critical factors for success and initiate activities to ensure alignment with program or project objectives.
  • Develop, manage and deliver aspect of transitioning an acquisition project to a sustainment organisation in compliance with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and line management regarding ILS aspects across the Defence materiel capability lifecycle including preparing briefs, proposals, reports and presentations.
  • Advice on materiel life cycle management to satisfy capability manager’s requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate

You are an experienced Logistician at a management level who is diligent and can independently perform and achieve complex ILS work within an integrated workforce. You will engage with stakeholders and investigate ILS concepts including managing specifications and resources in support of the Defence materiel capability lifecycle. You will investigate, analyse and report recommendations and advice to address issues. The candidate will be able to demonstrate and apply ILS knowledge and experience to develop and review ILS documentation including transition documents, identify risks and uncertainties and consider these in planning, decision-making and priority setting. You will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
