The Opportunity

We have a great opportunity for you to join our Future Networks team as a Principal Engineer Future Networks.

We are looking for someone who can assist in shaping Evoenergy’s longer term business and networks strategy. You will utilise your expertise to develop strategies, roadmap to deliver the strategy and lead future network & asset innovation projects.

You will have strong analytical skills and a sound knowledge of the national electricity rules and jurisdictional energy policy and regulatory framework, as well as emerging energy network disruptive technologies.

A day in the life:

  • With your continuous improvement mindset, you will build business opportunities from emerging technologies to achieve technical and financial benefits for long term value to our customers
  • As a dedicated expert in future networks initiatives, you will project manage network transformation pilots and projects that will include distributed energy resources such as PV and battery storage integration.
  • Because you enjoy providing solutions, you will provide analytics and support to assist in business transformation around future network environment that needs to consider gas and electricity options and distribution system orchestration.
  • As an advocate for building and cultivating positive relationships, you will partner with the business influencers for successful implementation of new technologies

About you

  • You have tertiary qualifications in either engineering, technical regulation or similar
  • Proven experience in developing business strategies and economic modelling
  • In-depth understanding of trends and changes impacting the utility industry
  • You have demonstrated experience in dealing with regulators such as the AER and jurisdictional technical regulators across the industry
  • You have an exceptional analytical mind-set with experience in business process analysis and project management
  • You are dynamic in thought and know how to promote, contribute to and implement change with the ability to persuade and influence at all levels

About our application process

  • Knowledge or understanding of Distribution System Operator (DSO) concept and required capabilities for Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSP)
