Job description:

We are currently seeking an Engineering Interface Manager for work on our South Eastern Program Alliance as part of the Level Crossing Removal.

This large-scale project will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

In this role, you will manage the project on all Engineering deliverables to facilitate successful Project delivery while maintaining MTM's safety obligations. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your existing skills and advance your career in the rail industry.

Accountabilities:
  • Be a key interface between the project's design team and MTM's Engineering, Operational and Maintenance teams
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to obtain relevant approvals relating to the design review process
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to meet project targets, objectives and milestones related to the projects' engineering deliverables
  • Work with the projects' design team and rail disruptions team to ensure associated engineering documentation is completed in accordance with the MTM rail disruption procedures.
  • Manage in the Management of Change process for the project including standard waiver, engineering change approvals and type approvals, including facilitation of required risk assessments.
  • Actively participate in the Safety in Design process of design packages.

Desired experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Project Management.
  • Minimum 6-10 years' engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the design process within a project delivery space.
  • Strong technical skills in a multi-disciplinary project
  • Strong communication and relationship skills to achieve outcomes
  • Experience in a railway or operational system design environment is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of risk management at a project level.
  • A strong understanding of the monetary and safety impacts of changes to engineering and systems in an operational environment.
