Procurement Officer (Panels, Category and Travel Management)

CSIRO Finance is seeking a motivated Procurement Officer to join the Panels, Category and Travel Management (PCTM) team within the Strategic Procurement section. As the Procurement Officer (PCTM), you provide procurement administration support and have responsibility for CSIRO’s Office Products and Freight contracts. You will also provide a range of corporate travel support activities to ensure the section achieves its objectives.

In this diverse role, you will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong customer focus which will be augmented by your working knowledge of government procurement policies and how they apply to a Corporate Commonwealth Entity.

Your duties will include

  • Contract management and administration support for office products and freight contracts.
  • Analysing data and developing executive reports from contract data and identifying areas of contract improvement, efficiencies, savings and opportunities to increase client satisfaction from contract reporting.
  • Assisting with management of panel procurements in order to provide additional capacity to meet periods of high workload demand.
  • Answering questions from staff, resolve questions, in relation to international travel and domestic travel.
  • Providing technical advice on government travel in accordance with CSIRO's travel policy which complies with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and draft changes to update or develop new policy.

Salary: AU$62k - AU$79k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be successful you will need

  • Relevant qualifications in procurement, government, administration or travel and/or relevant work experience in supporting government policy and procedures.
  • Experience in contract management and/or procurement.
  • A history of identifying improvements to current processes, coupled with the ability to communicate alternative and improved practices to key stakeholders to support CSIRO's position as a Commonwealth Agency.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • A history of professional and respectful behaviours and attitudes in a collaborative environment including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • To consent to a National Police Check if your application is successful.
