The City of Whitehorse Building Services Group are industry leaders in small to large scale domestic, residential, and multi-unit developments and building enforcement. They have had extensive experience through the private and public sectors of the building surveying industry.

As the Building Services group continues to grow and their number of statutory consents increases, we are looking to recruit a Cadet Building Surveyor. As a Cadet Building Surveyor you will gain further experience which will expose you to a broad range of building related tasks as well contributing towards your registration requirements.

The primary aim of this role is to utilise your developing skills to carry out duties and activities associated with the administration of statutory building control functions. The role will also have the ability to assist with processing of building dispensations, building inspections and investigation of building related complaints and building enforcement.

To be considered for this role you will have completed a recognised qualification in Building Surveying.

As the ideal candidate you will have:

• Knowledge and experience of building and development legislation and approvals system operating in Victoria

• Understanding of the functions and procedures associated with the building and development industry

• Demonstrated ability to prepare written correspondence, documentation and reports

• Capacity to communicate effectively in oral and written form as a professional

• Knowledge of MS Office and exposure to electronic document management systems

• Sound customer focus
