The Building Services Team at Whitehorse City Council is committed to providing mentoring and development opportunities for committed building professionals to achieve the next level of their registration.

Our small team provides an effective range of typical local government building support functions with the aim of maintaining and improving the environment and providing leadership and advocacy for environmental sustainability. The successful candidate will enhance our team as Assistant Building Surveyor and be involved in hands on delivery of ongoing building enforcement, including High Risk buildings and the Essential Safety Measures Strategic Program. Building Permits and dispensations. You will utilise your professional Building knowledge and skills to promote greater building compliance throughout the community.

To secure the role you will have current and relevant registration as a building practitioner (candidates nearing completion of registration are encouraged to apply). In addition you will have sound experience in either local government, private practice or the building industry with a proven record of effective customer service through which customers are empowered to make more informed decisions, and have demonstrated experience in providing professional Building Certification, Building siting dispensation assessments, ESSM, fire safety and building control audits.
