About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Optimisation, the asset engineer will oversee and upkeep the Asset Management holistic model, ensuring optimal and sustainable management of plant assets and associated systems. This includes historical analysis and real time monitoring of fleet asset performance and reliability to manage life cycle risk to support the delivery the organisation's strategic objectives.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Gather comprehensive lifecycle data for major maintenance, refurbishment, and replacement of power generation assets, which will inform the development of Asset Management Plans (AMPs).
  • Preserve data to facilitate decisions regarding the long-term sustainability and financial feasibility of the company's assets, aligned with the Business Unit's strategic plan.
  • Manage the many interfaces with our Operations, Engineering, Finance, Trading, Maintenance & Planning teams ensuring integrity of critical asset management data.
  • Drive the continual condition assessment of all the power generation assets through traditional inspection, NDT regimes whilst exploring digital twin / predictive analytical technologies.
  • Lead efforts to continuously enhance our systems and processes to better evaluate risk and costs associated with our asset base.

Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical or mechanical) with extensive experience in the power generation sector.
  • Experience in identifying and managing risk.
  • Proven expertise in delivering commercial and reliability improvements.
  • Inquisitive mindset supported with strong analytical skills.
  • Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for influencing and negotiating outcomes to create value.

In addition to the Power Generation physical asset base, A crucial aspect of this position involves coordinating interfaces with managers of various asset categories such as human, information, financial, and intangible assets.
