We are seeking a motivated Transport Engineer to join Darebin’s Transport and Public Places team.

This position will be responsible for managing major transport related projects, including developing and implementing strategic transportation policy, including parking policy, in line with Council goals.

The incumbent will combine their engineering experience and research and analytical skills to interpret customer needs and convert them into deliverables, supporting all modes of transport and access outcomes for our community.

The successful applicant will possess:
• A tertiary qualification in engineering or relevant experience in a transport related area is essential.
• Substantial experience in planning, designing and delivering local area traffic management and transport engineering solutions for roads, public transport, walking and cycling.
• Experience in coordinating resources to deliver numerous capital projects within time and budget.
• Ability to undertake complex and sensitive tasks and to provide accurate and timely advice on transport related matters.
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively
