Located along the banks of the Yarra, The City of Stonnington is a vibrant and diverse municipality with an enviable record as an innovative and progressive Council that is committed to providing a culture where employee health, wellbeing and development are a priority.
After a recent re-structure, we have a newly created position available for a Procurement Specialist to join our Finance Department on a permanent full time basis (flexible working arrangements may be considered. Role will be WFH to start and a mix once restrictions lift).
In this position, you’ll use your specialist knowledge to drive and implement a centralised procurement function and implement a robust procurement framework and tools that deliver on best value principles, sustainable procurement and good Governance controls. Joining a progressive and innovative Council, you'll drive business improvements through review and redesign of procurement processes to enable efficient and effective work practices, as well as partner with key stakeholders to understand the business and enable them to deliver on strategic procurement decisions.
We’re looking for someone with relevant experience, knowledge of relevant LG Legislation, policies and procedures and guidelines for Procurement processes and activities and experience in analysing, recommending and implementing opportunities for cost reduction and sustainable procurement. Additionally, you’ll need demonstrated stakeholder management with interpersonal and relationship building skills that create and sustain productive relationships and partnerships.
As a Stonnington employee you’ll be offered opportunities to participate in our award nominated wellbeing program, our impressive Learning and Development Program and an active Social Club. Additionally, you'll be rewarded with a monthly accrued day off, annual leave loading, a work life balance, priority access to Council managed childcare facilities and maternal child health and immunisation services and work for an organisation with a dedicated Green Team.
