About the role

** This role will be residentially based in Karratha.

Reporting to the Asset Services Manager the Senior Networks Officer will:

  • Perform complex technical tasks, planning, installation / construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and dismantling on the Pilbara Grid Network within divisional and corporate performance objectives
  • Ensure works are executed in line with corporate and divisional plans, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure assets are built and maintained in line with asset management plan.

The key aspects of the role are:

  • Deliver agreed outcomes for Safety, Reliability, Efficiency, Capacity, Governance, and Operational Budgets
  • Provide 6 weeks of work visibility and technical support to the Asset Services group.
  • Co-ordinate Asset Services group’s daily activities to support effective and efficient works delivery within approved budgets
  • Install electrical/electronic complex apparatus
  • Install Communication cables;
  • Maintain & Repair electrical/electronic apparatus and associated complex circuits;
  • Undertake testing and commissioning procedures of network apparatus and associated systems’ circuits;
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on Network apparatus and associated systems’ / circuits.
  • Coordinate and execute the technical issues of complex and large installation projects
  • Develop switching, commissioning and maintenance programs for works on the network
  • Lead and control HP appointed contractors
  • Compile and manage the on call roster
  • Mentor others in network switching commissioning and maintenance activities

About you
In addition to sharing our passion, to be successful in this role you will have:

  • Mandatory - Current unrestricted WA Electrical Workers License
  • Mandatory - WA Driver’s License Class “C”
  • Preferred - WA Driver’s License Class “HR”
  • Preferred - Certificate three (3) Transmission/Distribution linesworker
  • Preferred - Certificate three (3) cable jointer

Essential:

  • Sound knowledge of Transmission and Distribution networks, maintenance and operations field practices and procedures.
  • HV Switching competency.
  • Sound knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical protection systems within Transmission and Distribution Network systems.
  • Sound knowledge of project, contract and maintenance management systems.
  • MS Office systems: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
