Automation Engineer
The Role
Our Penrith site is located in Greater Western Sydney on the banks of the Nepean River and manufactures a range of more than 50 milk-based products. The site currently produces around 145 million litres of product every year - receiving and processing milk 24 hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days a year! We proudly source milk from around 60 dairy farms across NSW and are passionate about supporting local products.
We have an excellent opportunity for an Automation Engineer to join the production team. You will report to the Engineering Reliability Leader and look after the automation and continuous improvement activities to support the production & ongoing upgrades. You will provide technical recommendations and assist with different site activities. We are looking for someone with automation experience and is always looking for ways to improve processes.
This is a site-based role, working Monday to Friday. Start and finish times are flexible based on business and site needs.
Responsibilities
- Improve workforce productivity through eliminating potential technical delays
- Develop and implement automation process control improvements
- Perform programming required to ensure effective and efficient control systems
- Continuously improve PLC programs for optimized productivity
- Assist & mentor production team members to better understand the automation controls & impacts
- Lead various automation and continuous improvement projects
About you
- 1-2 years or more experience as an Automation engineer or similar role
- Knowledge of Siemens/Rockwell PLCs, Citect SCADA and FactoryTalk View is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of commissioning electrical control systems
- Experience identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects
- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities
- Calmness under pressure
