Site Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer within our Major Works Track team, this role will be working within a track environment supporting turnout replacements, track reconditioning, track rerailing as well as maintaining strong business relationships across other Engineering disciplines to support the construction management, project management and performing duties related to Track Civil work (formation and drainage).

Additionally this role will:

  • Provide engineering advice and technical support for railway infrastructure construction projects including trackwork, earthworks, drainage, steelwork and concrete work.
  • Assist the Site Management Team in the execution of the project works including the supervision of scheduling of resources, material procurement, contract management and audits and inspections.
  • Monitor the implementation of project activities in relation to progress against planned works and provide project progress reports to Senior Management.
  • Finalise project activities, including quality and completion sign-offs, closure of project financial systems, project audits and review and preparation of final project reports to Senior Management.

About the team 

Our SEQ Assets business delivers infrastructure services, construction, maintenance, asset management and development across our 700 kilometres of rail network across South East Queensland, stretching from Varsity Lakes in the South to Gympie in the North, from Moreton Bay in the East and inland to Rosewood in the west.

Within SEQ Assets sits our SEQ Project Delivery Track and Civil team which plays a key role in ensuring we deliver safe and reliable infrastructure and transport for the people of Queensland.

About you

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering (A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia).
  • Site based project engineering experience.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Positive attitude and willing to learn.
  • Railway track construction experience would also be desirable. 

Hours

  • Monday to Friday, standard business hours.
  • Currently 1 day per week WFH.
  • Regular weekend OT will apply, currently at least one weekend per month. At times nights are required, penalty rates apply.
