Sydney Quantum Academy is delighted to invite applications for Quantum PhD scholarships to pursue a PhD at one of our highly ranked* Australian partner universities: (*QS World Ranking 2025):

• University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney)
• University of Sydney 
• Macquarie University
• University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

We are seeking PhD candidates with world-class talent and a passion for making a global impact through innovative research in quantum science and technology.

Scholarships are valued from $37,684 to $41,650 per year for up to 4 years and include additional career development funding

Apply by 9 October 2024 for one of the following scholarships:

• SQA PhD Scholarship (Available to international and Australian domestic students)

• SQA Partnership PhD Scholarship (Available to international and Australian domestic students)

• Next Generation Quantum Graduates Program Scholarship Available to Australian domestic** students only)

**Domestic students include Australian citizens, permanent residents, a person entitled to stay in Australia, or to enter and stay in Australia, without any limitation as to time and a New Zealand citizen. International students must either hold or be able to obtain a valid visa for the duration of the specified term.

How do I find a project supervisor and university?

Our scholarship program offers an array of research projects spanning quantum science and technology across our partner universities.

SQA Partnership PhD Scholarship: Undertake research projects co-designed and supervised by researchers from UNSW Sydney and Australia's national science agency, CSIRO. To apply, you will need a relevant research proposal and endorsement from a specific research supervisor. Discover available research projects.

SQA PhD Scholarship: Explore our quantum research opportunities or search our database of Sydney Quantum Experts to find a potential supervisor for your research area of interest.

Next Generation Quantum Graduate Program: Participate in industry-engaged research projects at Diraq, Eigensystems, KPMG and BTQ. To apply, you will need a relevant research proposal and endorsement from the related supervisor. These scholarships are made possible by CSIRO’s Next Generation Quantum Graduates Program
